Rice other than basmati rice is called non- basmati rice. Non- basmati rice comes in various shapes and sizes. Some are long and slender, some are short and thick, some are like beads, and some may be round. This rice is sticky on the surface. But, after cooking, it is soft and has a sweet smell. Non-basmati rice is cultivated in the northern and southern regions of India. The rice is grown in the coastal plains and nourished with processed milling.
