India is the largest exporter and producer of Indian basmati rice. The Basmati rice is called the Queen of Scents because of its alluring fragrance, which magnifies the taste of the recipes. This long and slender rice has a fluffy texture and flavor thus making it suitable for a variety of savory dishes.
Rice other than basmati rice is called non- basmati rice. Non- basmati rice comes in various shapes and sizes. Some are long and slender, some are short and thick, some are like beads, and some may be round. This rice is sticky on the surface. But, after cooking, it is soft and has a sweet smell. Non-basmati rice is cultivated in the northern and southern regions of India. The rice is grown in the coastal plains and nourished with processed milling. Every kind of Non-basmati rice has a distinct flavour and smell which makes them unique.
