Talc Lumps are light to dark green or whitish grey colored stone like structures that can be pulverized in desired grain sizes for use. They find their application for production of sclerosing agent required in pleurodesis procedures. These lumps are also used as filler in order to enhance stiffness of vinyl, polypropylene, and nylon. They also serve as extender and filler in paint formulations. In baby diapers, powder of these lumps is utilized to prevent skin rashes or irritation. Talc Lumps are known to improve surface characteristics of paper in terms of printability and surface friction.
Industrial Talc is a clay mineral having hydrated magnesium silicate. It is extensively utilized in paper making, ceramics, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries. This talc has chemical formula Mg3Si4O10(OH)2 with light to dark green colored appearance. It is coated inside rubber gloves to prevent sticking and as stringent in baby diapers to prevent rashes. With E number E553b, Industrial Talc is used as an additive in food industry. It also serves as hand drying powder for basketball players to assure perfect grip on ball. This talc is highly appreciated for having excellent resistance to electricity, acids, and heat.
