They are main constituents of limestone and marble with solubility in dilute acids. Calcite Minerals are widely used in production of Portland cement, mortar, and in asphalt mixes as well. They have specific gravity of 2.71 with hexagonal crystal system. These minerals can also act as acid neutralizer and soil conditioner.
