We have 3 identical Ozone Generators made by German Wedeco Schmidding Ozone Technology GmbH in 1995. Each Ozone Generator consist of 4 ozone generating units of which 2+2 are build together but all four has their own cooling water space and oxygen / ozone gas systems. Ozone generating units are controlled in mode 2+2 as they are physically built as well. Each Ozone Generator has two main switches, two high voltage transformers (4000 - 9000 V) and one Power Supply Unit (PSU) with frequency converter. Generators are in very good condition and ready for shipment. High electrical voltages create the highly reactive ozone from oxygen gas according to the principle of silent electrical discharge from oxygen. Each generating units have volume over 3 m3 and it contains numerous steel pipes with glass protected electrodes inside the pipes. A high voltage is applied between an earthed high-grade steel pipe and an electrode fixed in it. The electrode and the grounded tube are separated by a dielectric, which creates two discharge gaps for the gas flow: both on the inside and the outside of the dielectric. Some of the oxygen molecules in the feed gas break down in the electric field (O2 > O + O) and immediately attach themselves to free oxygen molecules (O + O2 > O3), forming ozone. The electrodes are made of high-grade steel and the dielectric is produced out of highly resistant borosilicate glass. In addition, the high-voltage electrode is surrounded by a special high-grade steel mesh. This results in two discharge gaps ozone is formed on both sides of the dielectric. This reaction is not 100% but approx 12 w-% of O2 will be converted into O3 in this process. The electricity used for non reactive gas is waste energy and it is transferred into cooling water surrounding the steel pipes inside of units.
