Rice basmati superfine is a variety of long grain rice, notable for its fragrance and delicate, pronounced flavor. Its name means "the fragrant one" in Sanskrit but it can also mean "the soft rice" and the word coincidentally means "my smile" in Arabic.

Red rice is high in fiber because of the bran and the flavor is much stronger than that of hulled rice, tasting more nutty.
A number of different rice is referred to as red rice. Like other unhulled rice, red rice has a nutty flavor and a high nutritional value, germ of the rice is left intact. Red rice is often labeled as Bhutanese red rice or cargo rice.
