This generic term applies to all INSULATED SINGLE STRAND cables. It is essential to use this type of cable when the skin effect must be minimized and the electrical performance improved when producing high and low frequency windings with a high harmonic content.
Developments in power electronics have considerably widened the applicability of these cables:

• filtering and smoothing inductances (inverters, rectifiers etc...)
• Instrumentation transformers
• H.V. system inductances.

Technical Specifications
These cables are produced from SINGLE ENAMELLED STRANDS:

• Class B or F, suitable for soldering
• Class H, which may be tinnable or not.

The wires may be round or rectangular after rolling (to produce compact windings) and
additional insulation can be applied by:

• wrapping (film, tape, felt, class B, F or H)
• textile braid (natural or synthetic).
