Contact SupplierPinenuts are one of the calorie-rich edible seeds of pine trees (100 g of dry-kernels provide ~800 calories). These are relatively expensive than other nuts due to a labor-intensive harvesting process. This high-in-protein and dietary fiber seed is available in different sizes depending on its geographical location. They have a mild flavor that pairs equally well with meats, vegetables and desserts. Pine nuts are often lightly roasted to improve their flavor and to add crunchiness. Pine nuts are popularly used in the preparation of pesto sauce to be used in pizzas and pastas. Like almonds, pines are an excellent source of vitamin E. We sell pine nuts in the following varieties • Shelled: Shelled nuts are available commercially and should be consumed within days of purchase. • Unshelled: Raw pine nuts in the shell have an extremely hard and thick shell that is very difficult to crack. The shell’s hard texture requires more force to remove than other soft-shelled nuts. The unshelled variety has a long shelf life if kept dry and refrigerated. Tip: Pine nuts go rancid quickly. It is best if you keep them in the freezer to prevent their natural oils from spoiling.
