A four-way ball valve is a specialized type of valve designed to control the flow of fluids through four different ports, allowing for complex flow configurations and switching between multiple lines.
How It Works
At the heart of the valve is a rotating ball with internal channels. By turning the ball (typically 90 or 180), the valve redirects flow between different ports. Depending on the internal bore designT-port, L-port, or X-portyou can achieve various flow paths:
T-port: Connects three of the four ports at once.
L-port: Connects two adjacent ports.
X-port: Allows diagonal flow between opposite ports.
