Air-Operated Impulse Turbine Technical Description This demonstration unit is part of an equipment series that facilitated investigations on pneumatically driven turbines. On the unit, the characteristic behaviour of an impulse turbine can be investigated. For exact measurements, the table unit is equipped with electronic sensors for recording temperature, speed and torque, the values recorded are indicated on digital displays. Inlet and outlet pressure at the turbine are indicated on easy to read dial instruments. The flow rate in the system is measured with a variable-area flowmeter. For the operation of the unit, a mains connection and a compressed air connection are required.
Technical Description Pelton turbine demonstration unit, designed for operation in conjunction with the Turbine Service Unit. The turbine unit is placed on the Turbine Service Unit and supplied with water by the service unit. The turbine housing is made of Plexiglass so the tangential water jet can be observed unhindered. A braking device is fitted to the impeller shaft of the turbine, the braking device is in the form of a band brake using which the load and moment on the turbine shaft can be measured with an electronic dynamometer. An inductive proximity switch measures the rotational speed of the turbine. The following accessories are required for operation: an Interface Module , Data Acquisition Card with Software and Set of Connecting Cables . Using these accessories it is possible to take measurements, and process and store the measurements on a PC.
Air-Operated Reaction Turbine Technical Description This demonstration unit is part of an equipment series that facilitated investigations on pneumatically driven turbines. On the unit, the characteristic behaviour of a reaction turbine can be investigated. For exact measurements the table unit is equipped with electronic sensors for recording temperature, speed and torque, the values recorded are indicated on digital displays. Inlet and outlet pressure at the turbine are indicated on easy to read dial instruments. The flow rate in the system is measured with a variable-area flowmeter. For the operation of the unit, a mains connection and a compressed air supply are required.
