The benchtop unit includes the components of a refrigeration unit, which increases the pressure of the working medium and recools it. These are the compressor and the condenser. The other components required for a refrigerant circuit, such as an evaporator and expansion valve, are located in the auxiliary modules. Depending on the aim of the experiment, the base unit and the auxiliary module together form a complete refrigeration unit. The base unit and the auxiliary module are linked with self-locking couplings. Solenoid valves, which are controlled with the software, permit various operating modes. Different auxiliary modules are available:Single Chamber Refrigerator, Double Chamber Refrigerator, Air Conditioner, Domestic Air Conditioner, Climatisation Module.
Condensation Unit Technical Description The benchtop unit provides clear demonstrations of condensation processes in a glass cylinder. The system has one condensation pipe with a polished gold-plated surface for dropwise condensation, and one condensation pipe with a matt surface for film condensation. The condensers are water-cooled. The cooling capacity can be determined. Sensors provide all relevant data which is indicated on digital displays. The measured values can, at the same time, be transmitted directly to a PC using a data acquisition card and analysed on the PC using the software supplied. A supply of water is required.
